Key golf tips to sharpen your golf skills

Any PGA pro will tell you that ingraining and practicing the core fundamentals of the golf swing is key to a consistently solid game.  Here are a few vital golf tips and golf lessons that cover key elements of the golf swing including ball position, backswing golf tips and downswing golf tips.  Practice these golf tips regularly and your progress will accelerate dramatically.

Ball Position Golf Tips

To hit crisp iron shots, you should hit downward on the golf ball. To achieve the downward blow, the golf ball should be positioned correctly in relation to your stance. So, to hit solid iron shots, practice these key golf tips and position your body so that the golf ball is:

• In the center of your stance for shorter irons including 8, 9 irons and wedges
• One golf ball forward from center for mid irons including 5, 6, and 7 irons
• Two golf balls forward from center for fairway clubs including 3 and 5 woods and hybrid clubs
• Three golf balls forward from center for your driver

Full Swing Golf Tips

Backswing

When executing your backswing, rotate the club, arms and body back together while shifting your weight to the inside of your back leg.  Hinge your wrists as they approach waist level. At the top of the backswing, ensure your leading arm is straight, most of your body weight is on the inside of your back leg and that your rear knee is flexed.  Your shoulders should be rotated up to 90 degrees at the top of your backswing while your hips are rotated 30 to 45 degrees.

Downswing

When you initiate the downswing, shift your weight to your front leg.  Your hips, arms and shoulders will naturally follow this weight shift and unwind to the impact position. At impact, check that your head is behind the ball.  Continue turning your body after impact so that your arms and club extend toward the target after impact (release position).

To ensure proper body movement throughout the golf swing, here are a few quick golf tips to check at the finish position of your golf swing:

• Belt buckle faces your target
• Club is wrapped around your shoulder with club head directed toward target line.
• 90% of your weight is on front leg
• Back foot is upright on its toes.

These key golf tips will help you on the practice range to increase your confidence and sharpen your golf ball hitting techniques.

Expert tips to play golf in the driving range

The fastest path to developing a solid golf game is practice, play, track your progress, identify your strengths and weaknesses and practice again with focus on ingraining your strengths and developing your weaknesses.

After identifying your golf game improvement areas, develop your golf practice plan and goals.  Here are some example golf expert tips for a solid golf practice plan:

1. Begin golf practice session by performing light stretching and warm-up drills.

2. Review the golf lesson fundamentals of your backswing and downswing.  Spend about 10 minutes ingraining the key positions of your full swing in slow motion including takeaway, halfway back, top of backswing, downswing transition (i.e., right elbow “in the slot”), impact position, release and finish position. Start slowly, ingrain the proper positions and movements and increase your golf swing speed until you are swinging your club fluidly.

3. Set up a golf shot alignment station with two clubs, with the far club directed toward your target (“target line”) and the near club directly parallel to your target line (“body line”).

4. To loosen up and establish good tempo, spend 5 minutes and hit a few short chip and pitch shots.

5. Perform a few golf practice drills to practice your full swing mechanics (for example, backswing golf practice drill or release golf practice drill) for 4 shots to help establish the proper golf lesson swing fundamentals.

6. For the next 4 shots, execute your normal golf swing with an emphasis on a fluid swing motion.

7. Very important! Alternate between 4 practice shots (which emphasize proper mechanics) and the fluid swing.

8. For half of your golf lesson practice session, work on your short game including pitching, chipping and putting (and bunker work if possible).

Establishing a consistent golf practice plan and routine will help you to quickly accelerate your golf strengths and understanding of golf improvement areas resulting in lower scores more quickly.

Whenever you get a chance, review the golf swing fundamentals and golf expert tips from your instructor, golf lessons or other golf expert resources until you get a solid feel of how to set up and execute golf shots around the course.  After all, properly setting up for your golf shots is half the battle.

How to Play Golf in the Wind or in the Rain

All of us may know that golf is a great sport enjoyed by millions of people around the world, so more and more golfers would bring up their liking TaylorMade R11 to play golf game in the weekend. If the weather is not good to play golf game, what could you do?

In this article, I would like to tell you something to play golf game in the wind or in the rain. If you want to know more golf clubs review or golf news, you may read this article - Recommend Ping G15 to Beginners in my blog.

Play Golf

I'm wet and cold. Why? I've been out playing golf in the rain. Not just rain but cold rain driving in from the south that numbs the extremities and turns grips to soap. For seven holes, golf was bearable but this was real Golf Nut behaviour.

A few others were on the course enduring the rain. A group of guys ahead were from Bridge Pa in Hastings and had come down to Christchurch for a week of golf. I don't think the forecast is great most of the week so they might be sitting by the fire wishing they'd stayed in The Bay.

Everyone knows how hard it is slogging away into the wind hitting consecutive woods and still coming up short all day. But I think the downwind pitch shot may be about the toughest shot going around. I recall playing with three adept golfers on a very windy and drench day in Northern Scotland.

We were all in the fairway with only 70m or so to the pin on a par four and the wind was hurtling from behind. We each played our wedge shot but not one of us could keep the ball on the large green and not one birdie was made. Of course it's not only full shots that are affected and in a stiff breeze the art of putting becomes even more infuriating.

Compare that with a long, flowing swing of an American brought up on a diet of resort golf in Florida where long carries over the water are the norm and for whom wind is the ultimate evil. I've seen a 7 handicapper of this kind who would have shot 120 when a mild breeze was added to the equation.

But even for my more acclimatized Scottish friend the wind still has a significant impact on his score - particularly around the greens. This is why in the UK they still use the old "daily standard scratch" system of calculating handicaps using the average score for each particular day as the benchmark rather than the arbitrary figure of par.

I love playing golf in the wind. Tanks for reading my article, I would like to recommend the good TaylorMade R11 and Ping K15 to you!

Tips for Practicing

According to a recent survey, good golf players spend 43% of their practicing time to put. It is impossible to find an excellent player who's bad in put. If you want to improve your score, then try the following four simple steps to develop the perfect golf putting skills.

1.Posture

You should take a good posture, then keep you eyes above envision rolling line of the ball. Hold you clubs easily, and make sure it is just under your eyes. When you aim the ball, make the club falls naturally with gravity. Now, make sure your club wards the ball when you are looking down. If not, just move forward or backward until you can not the ball. Both hands press slightly and drive the putter toward the goal. Make sure the club and your left forearm in a line, which makes your ball roll as your expected direction after the ball leave the club head.

2.Grip

Your hands should be coordinated but not divided into two independent parts. It is wrong that you will intend to use the power of your wrist when your hands keep away. Just use three fingers of each hand, and the others against the clubs.

3.Goal

Find a garget, imagine there is a line between the head centre to your target. Do not care about the line between your leas, but make sure the head surface directs at target. Do not move your head. Otherwise your view will become distorted.

4.Hit

Hit with a Titleist Putter should use your shoulders and arms as much as possible, but not your wrist. Try your best to not move your body, or move the center of gravity or rotate the hips.
If you want to know more about the tips for practing you can consult our customer service.
They will tell some more info about the golf and golf clubs.

Some info about the Ping G10 Irons as the following:

This bestseller always makes it's fans crazy about it and undisputed first choice. You must want to know what magic has been used in it then makes this iron set so desirable.
The 17-4 stainless steel G10 irons are engineered with extreme low toe weighting to increase the moment-of-inertia for added forgiveness and consistency. The large, perimeter-weighted head features a new cavity shape and wider sole.

The center of gravity is positioned away from the face and low in the club head to promote higher launching, lower spinning shots. By creating a new shape for the Custom Tuning Port (CTP), PING engineers stabilized the hitting area to produce consistent ball velocity across the entire club face. An elastomer CTP insert helps control vibration for a solid feel.

Also With My impression of the some Cheap Golf Clubs is that it is a great online store of both quality merchandise and good service. I'm still playing the R9 I bought from them last year. They patiently answered my questions and gave me some suggestions on how to choose the right clubs that fits me. Good deals and service! Not bad!

Golf Lessons for Beginners: Right way to Proceed

Beginner golfers often struggle with their swing because of information overload.  There are thousands of golf books, golf lessons and golf videos available that can confuse the beginner golfer. Beginner golfers should take learning the game of golf one step at a time and really start and focus on the basics of the swing.  Once they have that down, they should transition to other elements of the game.

In that spirit, here are some full proof golf lessons that are relevant for all golfers, but especially for beginner golfers.

Ball Position Golf Lessons

It is critical that your golf ball is positioned correctly before you even take your golf swing.  Otherwise, you can encounter a range of errant shots with no idea what is causing them.  So, to hit solid golf shots every time, here are some PGA proven golf lessons for your ball position in relation to your golf stance.

1. The ball should be in the center of your stance for shorter irons including 8, 9 irons and wedges
2. The ball should be about an inch forward from center for mid irons including 5, 6, and 7 irons
3. The ball should be about two inches forward from center for fairway clubs including 3 and 5 woods and hybrid clubs
4. The ball should be about three inches forward from center for your driver and aligned with the heel of your forward foot.

Full Swing Golf Lessons

Backswing

Throughout your golf swing, your body should be synchronized.  This starts with the backswing.  So, in your backswing, rotate the club, arms and body back together as you shift your weight to the inside of your back leg.  Your wrists should naturally hinge as they approach your waist.   At the top of the backswing, ensure your leading arm is straight, most of your body weight is on the inside of your back leg and that your back knee is flexed.  Your shoulders should rotate up to 90 degrees at the top of your backswing while your hips rotate from 30 to 45 degrees.

Downswing

Shift your weight toward your forward leg to initiate the downswing.  This weight shift leads your hips, arms and shoulders to follow and unwind to the impact position. At impact, your head remains behind the ball.  Continue turning your body after impact so that your arms and club extend toward the target after impact and finish relaxed with your belt buckle facing your target.

Tried and True Practice Routine to Play Golf Game

A consistent, focused golf practice routine is essential to rapidly improve your golf game and is the best way to practice golf.  Here are a few golf practice tips and golf practice drills you can apply to your practice routine to accelerate your development.

Practice Golf with a Purpose: Recommended Golf Practice Routine

To develop a sound golf game and swing consistency, you should practice golf with a purpose and develop a consistent overall golf practice plan to focus your golf practice sessions.  Here is a tried and true routine you can use as you practice golf:

1. Initiate golf practice session with pre-swing warm up including stretching and tempo golf practice drills.

2. Once warmed up, spend 5 to 10 minutes performing your golf swing in slow motion and emphasize the correct positions for the takeaway, backswing, top of backswing, backswing transition to downswing, downswing impact position, release and follow through.  Practice these golf practice drill while increasing your swing speed until your swing feels natural and fluid.

3. Before you start hitting golf balls, set up an “alignment station” to make sure your golf shots are on target by taking two clubs and setting them up parallel to one another on the ground about 18 inches apart and pointing toward your target.  The club furthest from you should form your “target line” and the club closest to you should be used to align your body parallel to the target line.  Hit your golf ball from the middle of the clubs.

4. Next, practice golf swing tempo and crisp contact by hitting a few short pitch golf shots and chip golf shots.

5. Start moving through your clubs starting with your shorter irons (pitch wedge, nine iron, eight iron).

6. For your first four shots with a particular club, focus on full swing mechanics (do not worry about distance) to help instill the proper golf swing fundamentals.

7. Then, for the next four shots, perform your normal, full golf swing with an emphasis on a smooth, fluid motion.

8. For the rest of your full golf swing golf practice session, alternate between four golf practice shots (with focus on mechanics) and four shots using your normal, full golf swing.

9. Once you have worked through your clubs for the full swing, be sure to devote half of your golf practice session on the short game including full golf pitch shots, chip shots and putting.

How to Cure Golf Fat Shots and Thin Shots

Two of the most frustrating golf swing faults are to hit the golf ball fat or thin.  A golf fat shot is when you hit the turf first before hitting the golf ball and a golf thin shot is when the leading edge of your club strikes the equator of the golf ball.  Both of these golf swing faults can cause a host of errant golf shots (and often result in golfers hurling their clubs in the water).

Below are the common causes and proven cures for both golf fat shots and golf thin shots:

Golf Fat Shot: Causes

1. Golf grip is too loose or too tight on the club.
2. Golf ball is too far back or too far forward in stance.
3. Weight remains on your back foot at impact.
4. Wrist releasing too soon on downswing (you are likely trying to “help” ball get airborne).

Golf Fat Shot: Cures

1. Maintain a moderate grip pressure of 4 or 5 (on a scale of 1 to 10).
2. Move your body weight to forward leg through impact.
3. Try to release wrist hinge as late as possible with a sensation of driving your trailing hip and hand through ball impact.
4. Focus on driving into the back of the ball.

Golf Thin Shot: Causes

1. Typically occurs when there is too much tension in your golf grip and/or you are trying too hard to “help” the golf ball get into the air (resulting in flipping of the wrists).
2. Other common causes of golf thin shot is an incorrect address position with either the hands behind the golf ball or golf ball is positioned incorrectly – either too far backwards or forwards.

Golf Thin Shot: Cures

1. Maintain a moderate grip pressure of 4 or 5 (on a scale of 1 to 10).
2. When you address the golf ball, ensure that your hands are placed ahead of the golf ball.
3. Relax throughout the swing. Thin shots often come from tension at impact; focus on hitting ball and nipping turf at same time.

So remember these key golf swing tips every time fat or thin shots creep into your game!

Quick Tips to Fix a Golf Hook Shot

A golf hook shot occurs when the golf ball starts right of the target (for right handers) and curves back to the left of the target.  The golf hook shot is usually the result of improper setup and can be relatively easy to fix.  In this article, we provide a few golf hook shot tips and two very useful golf hook shot practice drills to fix this vexing swing fault.

What Causes the Golf Hook Shot?

1. Poor alignment to the target: For example you are aligned too far right of the target.
2. Too strong of a golf grip (i.e., your golf grip is rotated too far to the right on golf club grip).  This causes the clubface to close pre-maturely at impact, which sends the ball to the left.
3. Your club swing path is either “out to in” which sends the ball to the left or conversely your club swing path is too much “in to out” and also combined with a closed clubface.  An “in to out” swing path and closed club face combination creates counter-clockwise spin on the ball which sends the golf ball to the left.

Great Drills to Fix Golf Hook Shots

LEFT TOE BACK DRILL

Corrects golf hooks caused by excessive IN-OUT swing and encourages proper IN-SQUARE-IN swing path. Also promotes strong balance.

1. Assume your golf setup with 7-iron and without ball.
2. Bring your front foot back and keep your front foot toe on ground. Keep weight on right side.
3. Staying balanced, take 5 to 10 practice swings.
4. Continue drill by hitting balls off tee at half-speed.

HOOK TEE DRILL

Corrects golf hooks caused by excessive IN-OUT swing and encourages proper IN-SQUARE-IN swing path.

1. Place two tees and ball left to right diagonally, creating an IN-SQUARE-IN swing path. Allow about 4"x 4" spacing from each tee to ball.
2. Assume normal setup and ball position with 7-iron.
3. Focus on hitting the golf ball crisply without hitting tees.
4. Hit 5 to 10 practice shots, then return to your normal swing.
5. If you start to hit golf hooks again, simply return to the hook tee drill for 5 to 10 practice shots.

Useful Tips to a Good Golf Swing

There are thousands of golf swing tips available in books, magazines and the web that give advice on the proper golf swing, but this has resulted in information overload for the majority of golfers that simply want to cut through the clutter and develop a decent golf game. Here are a few tried and true, PGA-proven golf tips that serve as the foundation to a solid golf swing every time!  Note: these golf swing tips are for right handed golfers.

Golf Swing Stance & Posture

1.When setting up your golf swing, ensure your weight is balanced and lies in the middle of feet.
2.Tilt from your hips approximately 30 degrees to achieve the proper spine angle.
3.Bend your knees slightly
4.Keep your back straight with your chin up and off your chest
5.Let your arms hand freely.
6.Keep your feet shoulder-width apart for your “middle” irons (5 iron, 6 iron, 7 iron), slightly wider than your shoulders for longer irons and woods (hybrid, 3 wood, driver) and slightly more narrow than your shoulders for shorter irons and wedges (PW, SW, 9 iron).

Full Golf Swing Fundamentals

Backswing Steps

1.Rotate the club, body and arms back together while shifting your weight to the inside of your right leg.
2.As your hands approach your waist, your wrists should naturally hinge.
3.At the top of the backswing, check that your left arm is straight, 80% of your body weight is on inside of your right leg and that your right knee remains in the same position (slightly flexed) throughout the golf swing. Your shoulders should be turned up to 90 degrees (from your starting position) while your hips are turned anywhere from 30 to 45 degrees.

Downswing Steps

1.The first movement of your downswing should be a shift of your body weight to the left, followed by your hips, arms and shoulders as you approach impact with the golf ball.
2.When you reach the golf swing impact position, “release” the club by unhinging your wrists and delivering the club head square through the ball…this should occur naturally.
3.When you make contact with the golf ball, ensure your head is behind the ball.
4.After golf impact, your body will turn through toward the target and your arms and club will extend toward the target.
5.Key checkpoints for a proper “finish.” Your belt buckle will face your target; your club will wrap around your shoulder; 90% of weight is on your left leg; your right foot is upright on toes.

Golf Swing Lessons to Improve your Golf Game

How should beginner golfers choose and participate in golf lessons to develop solid golf fundamentals?  This article focuses on how beginner golfers should find and participate in golf lessons including getting ready for golf lessons, choosing the right golf instructor and getting the most out of your golf lessons.

1.First, identify your golf goals.  Do you simply want to want to be a “decent” golfer and have fun outdoors?  Or do you want to develop a solid golf game and shoot in the 80’s on a consistent basis? Do you anticipate playing only a few times per year?  Or do you see yourself adopting golf as a lifestyle and playing every weekend?

2.Second, what is your time availability to participate in golf lessons?  Can you commit 5 hours per week to your game or only a few hours per month?

3.Third, once you have identified your golf goals, you should find the right golf teaching professional that can help you achieve your goals.  A good golf pro should offer golf lessons tailored to your goals considering your time and budget.  The internet is a wonderful tool to find a good golf teaching professional.  Or you can simply talk to your friends or local golf course and seek their recommendations.  When evaluating golf pro teaching professionals, ask them about their teaching style and approach.  Start out with a few lessons to gauge the degree of fit between the teaching pro’s style and your goals before signing up for a package of golf swing lessons.

4.Once you have found a teaching pro you are comfortable with, become a good student and focus on only one or two areas of development at a time. Between golf lessons, it is critical that you practice those one or two areas, improve them and work on the next stage of development in future golf lessons.

Remember, that golf takes a little time to learn and you need to be patient to develop the fundamentals one step at a time.  Over time, the golf lessons you have applied will all work and flow together seamlessly!

Use these lessons in your daily golf practice routine and then see how soon you can improve your golf swing.

How to get good golf putting instructions

There are hundreds of different golf instructions magazines, books, and websites out there.  So what do you do if you simply want general, proven golf instructions to learn the basics of golf?

First off, beware of golf instructions books that provide “magic solutions” or “new golf techniques” that go against solid, proven fundamentals.
Second, look for golf instructions books or guides that are simple to understand and have great visuals to help you absorb and learn the golf instructions quickly.

Good golf instructions references should cover the following:

1. Golf swing fundamentals including ball position, set up, backswing, downswing and weight transfer.
2. How to set up and execute the various golf shots you will encounter on the course.
3. The fundamental phases of the game including driving the ball, iron play, short game, putting, sand shots and specialty shots.
4. Golf practice drills
5. Golf practice routines.

Once you get a solid feel of basic golf instructions, you should choose a good golf pro to help you with your swing.  If you go the “do it yourself” route, then go to a driving range and simply start hitting some short shots golf shots getting a feel for the basics of the golf swing.  Don’t worry about distance or working through all of your clubs, but concentrate on one club, for example a 7-iron and start hitting some very short shots to try to get a general feeling for the swing. Your goal should not be hitting the golf ball a far distance, but solely on getting the ball airborne and straight consistently.

Once you start hitting your golf shots consistently with your 7-iron, start to work with your other clubs including the wedges, long irons and woods.

Reference your chosen golf instructions reference to guide you through the set up, ball position and swing for these other clubs and always focus on developing solid golf swing fundamentals rather than distance.

When you feel comfortable, play some initial rounds ideally on an easy course.  Do not get bogged down too much in mechanics or your score when you play, but focus on getting the ball airborne and straight toward your target.  Keep track of your progress regularly, noting what is working and not working and go back to your chosen golf instructions references to help you fix swing faults (e.g., golf slices, fat golf shots, etc.).

Keep a positive attitude and keep practicing!  Soon, you will get that “aha” feeling and you will be hooked to golf for life!

Golf Pitching Tips to Implement in your Game

Over sixty percent of your golf score can be attributed to the short game.  So, the degree that you can successfully execute the golf pitching shot is critical to a solid golf short game and improving your score.  To help you get the most out of your short game on or off the course, here are some critical golf pitching tips to accelerate your development. Implement below given pitching shot tips in your daily golf practice routine to accelerate your development and rapidly lower your score.

Golf Pitching Shot: Setup and Execution

When you are ten to seventy yards from the hole, the “golf pitching shot” is probably your best option.

1. The golf pitching shot spends more time in the air than on the ground, so use a more lofted club such as a sand wedge (54 to 58 degrees loft) or lob wedge (59 to 62 degrees loft).
2. Slightly open your golf stance.  Ensure you are positioned so that the golf ball lies slightly forward from the middle.
3. Place your weight so that sixty percent of your weight is on your left foot and forty percent is on your right foot. Keep this weight distribution throughout the golf pitching shot.
4. Move your hands down the golf grip and position them in front of the ball.  Grip the club slightly firmer in the golf pitching shot than you would for a normal golf shot.
5. Keep a steady pace and swing your torso back and through the golf pitching shot.
6. To control your distance, use the 7-8-9 golf pitching shot method where you swing your straight left arm back to the particular “hours” of a clock to achieve consistent distance control.  For example, if you swing your left arm back to the “7-o’clock” position and hit the ball 30 yards, then your 7 o’clock shot is for 30 yard golf pitching shots.  Practice this method until you know your distance for “7 o’clock,” “8 o’clock” and “9 o’clock” shots.

I hope above given useful golf pitching shot suggestions will remove your frustration and enhance your golf shot playing skills. Everything is position, timing and gripping, focus on all these things and lower your golf score.

Successful Tips to Hit a Golf Draw Shot

A golf draw shot is an ideal golf swing shot for many golfers as it often helps them get more distance and serves as a nifty weapon to help curve your golf shot around an obstacle to your target.

Basically, a golf draw shot slowly curves from right to left toward your target.  The opposite of a draw shot is a “fade” which occurs when your shot curves slowly from left to right.

The differences between a draw shot and a fade were great, draw shots averaged 233 yards in carry and roll, the fades only 216. Therefore it is possible for you to gain at least 17 yards in distance on a fade.

To hit an “intentional” draw shot, here are a few golf tips to set up and execute the golf draw shot every time you play.

1. Align your body slightly to the right of your target.  A good way to do this is align parallel to your target like you normally do with your golf shots, then rotate your body clockwise about five degrees so that you are aligned just right of the target. This drill will help you to setup and execute your draw shot perfectly.
2. Assume a stronger golf grip which encourages a little bit more of a “closed” club face.  To assume a stronger golf grip, rotate your hands on the grip toward the right.  Your club face should now be slightly closed which helps promote more of a “right to left” ball flight. It’s means proper golf gripping is required.
3. To properly hit the golf draw shot, it is important to have more of a loose grip which promotes more “release” so loosen your grip slightly for a fluid “release” through the golf draw shot.
4. The final step is very critical.  Though your body line is just right of the target, when you assume your setup position, it is important to aim your clubface directly at the target AND execute your swing along your body line.  In other words, swing as you normally do because your body position, grip and clubface position will work together to produce the golf draw shot. When all these things work perfectly together you are able to hit a golf draw shot.

Hopefully these golf instruction will help you to enhance your golf skills and motivate you to hit the draw shot in a perfect way.
