Best Golf Swing Instruction

Sometimes, no matter how much you practice, perfecting your swing or even correcting small problems in your swing seems impossible. In this case, you might require golf swing instruction from a pro...even if you have been playing for some time. Golf swing instruction will probably help you even more than you realize.

Golf pros are different from ordinary golfers. They have perfected their own game, and then they learned to study other people's games to help them perfect their games. A golf pro knows that all golfers are different, and each one will have different needs to correct small problems. Pros are trained to help you correct those problems - in ways designed just for you.

Finding golf pros is easy - finding golf pros that are good is a little harder. Finding a golf pro that suits your particular needs can seem absolutely overwhelming... but it doesn't have to be. There are certain steps to take to find a good golf shop. Don't just settle for the guy that works in your local pro shop.

First, ask your friends for recommendations. Find out where the pros are located, and if possible, watch them with their other students from a distance. How do they interact? Are they patient? Do they seem to know what they are doing, and what they are talking about? Visit your local pro shop, and ask about the pros that are available in the area. Don't worry about insulting the pro running the shop - he probably no longer offers instruction anyway.

Most clubs have golf pros on staff. Follow the same protocol, and watch them from a distance, after the practice session that you watch, try to catch up with the golf student, and ask questions about the golf pros instructional skills, and ask specifically if they would recommend him. Ask them if there has been any improvement in their game since they started the lessons.

Ask for references - and check them. If you haven't had the opportunity to watch the pro in action on the course, ask to join a training session for observation purposes. Don't be alarmed if the pro says no to this - it may simply be to protect the privacy of his or her clients. You might even offer to pay half of the hourly rate for the opportunity to watch them in action with another student.

Once you've started instruction with a golf pro, give it a few sessions to determine whether or not this is the right golf pro for you. Sometimes, people simply don't get along well. It may be that this particular golf pro cannot convey the concept to you in a way that you understand. If it isn't working out, don't be afraid to stop working with that particular pro, and start your search for another one. The current pro may be able to make a recommendation if you just explain the situation to them in a nice way.

Don't make the mistake of thinking that you can perfect your golf swing in just one or two sessions with a golf pro - or even three or four, and maybe not even in ten sessions! Everyone learns at their own pace, and golf techniques take time to learn, and even more time to perfect. Also, really listen to what your golf store is telling you. If you aren't willing to listen, you are wasting your time, your money, and the pros time as well. Stay completely focused during your training sessions, and make sure that you put in the additional practice time that is recommended by your pro.

If you feel that you have been given quality golf swing instruction by your pro, don't be afraid to tip them, or offer them a bonus. This is a common practice, and many pros depend on tips a great deal. Treat your pro with respect - they are not underlings. Failure to give proper respect to your pro may result in him or her walking off the job! Golf pros have a true love for the game - and if you demonstrate that same feeling for the game, you may find that you receive superior instruction!

Improve Your Golf Driver Swing

For every golfer, the driver is important, it's the first step in the hiting. The old saying is: a good beginning is half done. So improve your golf driver swing is important.

Lead the ball far also is one of the funnest game, but the secret to long drives is not golf course you use but rather your ability to swing.

When most of the golfers on the golf course, they are not confidence in their ability to swing their clubs. Many enthusiasts practise their iron golf game but have difficulty serious swing the pilot transfer. As many found hard to believe, but it is quite true that:

A. Golf driver swing is basically the same as iron swing. You need to know to be true. There are some adjustments to be done in terms of position and positioning of the ball, but the reality is that there are 13 golf clubs, but only 1 golf swing.

The driver is the larger and more difficult to control than irons. This means:

B. On the other hand, it is particularly important to swing the club by your torso rotation does not by swinging just your arm. Many players get to their arm oscillating with short irons, but have difficulty balancing golf irons and additional difficulty with their golf driver swing. Keep your back straight and rotate your shoulders with your arms. Your arms will stay with your shoulders as a unit. This makes your swing depends on the rotation and provide an arc of swing more smooth which enhances your control of the driver. Rotation is essential to hit shots long and straight on the golf course.

Due to the length and the power of the driver, small incorrect movements in your swing will translate into large developed-hits.

C. Keep your balance is extra important with golf driver swing. Once more golfers with impunity can swing, hunched and failover when hitting their irons to short, but have major problems hitting wood. Address your weight should be towards the toes of your feet, not on the heel. Rear swing your hips should only turn back slightly. Not swing shift, or tilt back with your hips but rather prevent your stable foundation and rotate the base of the spine. When you enter the slowdown, you'll need to rotate your hips forward (no change) to place your swing and coming through golf club. With a little golf practice drills, it should not be difficult to keep your balance to your golf driver swing.

The key to hit your driver well is the same that hit a club, you must have a golf swing good. If you're not confidence in your ability to swing although golf club, then you must register in some swing Golf online lessons. They are very good markets, and in many cases, teachers are better than your local golf pro. Improve your overall golf swing will result in the vast improvement in your golf driver swing.

The Right Golf Swing

Friend, firstly can I be brutally honest with you;you'll never develop a swing like Tiger's. Or for that matter, Mickelson's, Els's, Daly's or Garcia's

To be frank, no matter how hard you try or how often you practice golf, odds are you'll NEVER be able to swing the club like the top tour pros. Why? Because, like most of us, you weren't born with their physical ability.

Besides, each of the big-money pros has a swing that's unique to his (or her) physique. It's hardwired into the DNA. That's how they got to be big-money pros.

Does that mean you'll never play better than you play right now? That you're doomed to be a duffer? The butt of countless jokes from your buddies? A study in frustration?

No! Nein! Nyet! Non!! No way! Because there's another, more important truth.

It doesn't matter if you can't copy Tiger - This program is going to help you develop a swing guaranteed to help you Play better golf than you ever thought possible in two short weeks or I'll send your money back.Actually, it's more than a swing. It's a whole System. But don't let that scare you. It's very simple. That's the beauty of it. And why I call it "The Simple Golf Swing System"

With the Simple Golf Swing System...

You'll hit straighter and further than you ever hit before.
You'll hit with greater distance and accuracy every time.
You'll hit more greens and get the ball consistently close to the pin.
You'll wonder what ever happened to that awful slice you used to have.
You'll gain a new outlook on golf with greater confidence in your game. Because you're armed with a proven system that actually works!

Learn the best golfing techniques from the start, so you don't have a golf swing like a cave man. Yes, I realize there's a lot of hype on the Internet and I don't blame you for being a little skeptical.More than 19,000 golfers in 36 countries on six continents swear our System fixed their swing problems once and for all.

Just what is this "Simple Golf Swing System"?
And how can it help my game?

Good question;.we've had the opportunity to watch a lot of top pros close up and to talk to them about the game. It was enough to convince us these guys have so much natural ability that it would be almost impossible for the average golfer to duplicate their techniques.

We've also found the same thing to be true with most teaching pros.It seems they either try to impose their techniques on their students (who lack their ability) or else they recognize this lack of ability and dumb down lessons.

In other words, they don't even try to teach the difficult stuff because the don't think their students can ever learn it. Now, please don't get me wrong. I've got nothing against teaching pros.

But we have seen a lot of golfers struggling because of the kind of instruction available to them. And decided to do something about it.

We have devoted a year to developing a bullet-proof swing that any golfer - regardless of ability - can learn quickly and easily. The result: The Simple Golf Swing System. We have put it all in one system that breaks it down into five simple steps every golfer can master in practically no time at all. And practically painlessly. (That "no pain, no gain" stuff has no place in my System.) What makes the System work so well is that you don't have to master all of it all at once. You get one part down and move on to the next. And in a much shorter time than you'd imagine.

In fact, you can learn the whole system in about three hours. And two weeks later, you'll be playing killer golf. That's not just a promise.

We guarantee it!

How our System Works.

In short, it's all about putting some backbone into your game. That means using your spine as an axis to keep you on the correct swing plane. The System works to keep all your swings consistent. And a consistent, correct swing is the secret to lowering your score. We'll also teach you the proper golf grip so you can add distance to every shot. The software will help you with your timing and club face alignment until the ball is flying straight as a laser beam every time you hit.

And that means you can say so long to your slice for good. As well as to some other bad habits that kept your ball off the greens. This is found in a step-by-step guide with easy-to-follow instructions and detailed photos

What the Simple Golf Swing System will do for you:

1. It will save you money.
The average pro charges around $100 an hour for lessons. And don't think you're going to get by with just one.So pretty soon, you're talking serious money. A painful subject in times like these. But...The entire Simple Golf Swing System can be yours for less than half of what one lesson costs. That's right. For about half of what a single lesson costs, you can own the complete System. I'll have more on that in a moment.

2. It will save you time.
If you're working with a pro, plan on devoting a big chunk of time to trying to master what he's telling you. (And remember what I said about the way most pros teach.)And if you're going to try to figure it all out by yourself, you're going to be spending a lot of time wondering if what you're doing is right and what you should be focusing on.

Listen, if you're like most of us, you don't have an unlimited amount of leisure time. Why spend any of it fretting and worrying instead of playing golf? With the System you can...Learn the perfect swing in just three hours. Then you can go out and do what you're supposed to be doing... enjoying yourself.

3. It will save your sanity.
You figure you've finally got your swing worked out and you're hitting pretty well. Then on your next drive, the ball heads straight for the trees like a wood-seeking missile. That's when the frustration kicks in. And before long, you're cursing yourself for ever taking up this #!!!!&##!!! game.

Who needs this aggravation? Golf is supposed to be fun.And it will be... Once you're playing the kind of golf you know you're capable of.That won't be long because...

You'll be playing the best golf of your life in just two weeks.

I want to get the Simple Golf Swing System into your hands right away. So I'm going to give you a little incentive to order now.

What kind of incentive? Well, how about...

And that's all on top of the Simple Golf Swing eBook and Special Video Presentation.

More Common Golf Swing Fault and Fixes

Most golfers experience some type of golf swing fault as they play the game of golf.  The trick is to quickly identify and address the swing fault. Here are a few of the most common golf swing faults and a few golf tips to address these faults.

Common Golf Swing Fault 1: Poor Golf Grip

One of the most common golf swing faults is to have a poor golf grip which can cause a host of problems and errant golf shots.  Here are a few golf tips to ensure you have the proper golf grip every time.

1.Palms always face each other on the golf grip.
2.When looking down at grip, knuckles of the left hand forefinger and middle finger should be visible and the creases of thumbs and forefingers point between right side of face and right shoulder.
3.Throughout the golf swing, your hands should work together as one unit.

Common Golf Swing Fault 2: Poor Golf Shot Setup

Poor golf shot setup is also a common golf swing fault.  Here are a few golf tips to help you set up correctly for every shot.

1.Your body should be balanced with your body weight in the middle of your feet.
2.Your body spine angle should be tilted from your hips about 30 degrees.
3.Your knees should flex slightly.
4.Your back should be straight with your chin held up and off the chest.
5.Your arms should hang freely from your shoulders.
6.Your feet should be wider than your shoulders for long irons and woods, about shoulder-width for middle irons and slightly less than shoulder-width for shorter irons.

Common Golf Swing Fault 3: Poor Body Weight Transfer

The third most common golf swing fault is poor weight transfer from the back leg in backswing to the front leg in the downswing.  Poor weight transfer can cause loss of power, fat shots, thin shots, golf slices and golf hooks.

To ensure you are properly transferring your weight, keep your body weight on the inside of the back foot in backswing while your back knee remains in place throughout the swing.  This sets up a powerful coil and proper weight shift to your front leg in your downswing.

3. Pitching: Slightly open your stance and keep your weight on your front foot throughout the golf shot. Keep a steady pace and swing your torso back and through the shot.

Once balanced, tilt from your hips approximately 30 degrees to achieve the proper spine angle.  Keep your knees slightly flexed and your back straight with your arms hanging freely.  Make sure your chin is up and off your chest.  With respect to the width of your golf swing stance, keep your feet shoulder-width for mid-irons, slightly wider than your shoulders for longer irons and woods and slightly more narrow than your shoulders for shorter irons and wedges.

Full Golf Swing Fundamentals

Backswing

When executing your golf swing backswing, rotate the club, body and arms back together along your golf swing plane while shifting your body weight to the inside of your right leg. As your hands approach your waist, your wrists should hinge.  At the top of the backswing, check that your left arm is straight, 80% of your body weight is on inside of your right leg and that your right knee is flexed.  Also, check your backswing coil ensuring that your shoulders are turned up to 90 degrees while your hips are turned 30 to 45 degrees.

Downswing

Once you have established the proper position at the top of your backswing, the first movement of your golf swing downswing involves shifting your weight to the left, followed by your hips, arms and shoulders unwinding to the impact position. At impact, the golf club is released by unhinging your wrists and delivering the club head square through the ball. At impact, check that your head is behind the ball.

After golf swing impact, your body will turn through toward the target with your arms and club extending toward the target down the target line.
At the finish position, your belt buckle should face your target with your club wrapped around your shoulder. At the completion of your swing, 90% of your weight should be on your left leg with your right foot upright on toes.

Critical Golf Swing Tips for the Golf Players

Though the golf swing can seem complicated, there are really only a few key critical fundamentals to remember that are inherent in just about any golf swing.  Here are some critical golf swing tips for the golf swing.  Whenever you are working on your golf game, review and practice these golf swing tips to engrain the proper golf swing movements into your full swing.

Golf Swing Tip 1: Setup

1.       Golf Grip – Using the Vardon Overlap golf grip used by the vast majority of golfers, take the little finger of your right hand and place it between the index and middle finger of your left hand (or leading hand).  Your left hand thumb should fit snugly in the lifeline of your right hand.  Ensure that your golf grip pressure is light so that amount of wrist hinge throughout your swing is fluid. On a scale of 1 to 10 where 10 is “tight” and 1 is “loose,” you should strive for a “5 to 6” golf grip pressure.

2.       Posture and Stance – Placing your body weight in middle of your feet, tilt from hips approximately 30 degrees to achieve proper spine angle. Keep your knees slightly flexed and back straight while your arms hang freely.  Keep your chin up and off your chest.

3.       Ball Position – Driver - three balls forward from center (aligned with heel of left foot); 3, 5 Wood & Hybrid (also 1-4 Irons) – two balls forward from center; 5,6 & 7 Iron – one ball forward from center; 8, 9 & Wedges – ball in center of stance.

Golf Swing Tip 2: Backswing

1.       Shift body weight to inside of right leg as club is taken back.
2.       As hands approach waist, wrists start to hinge/cock.
3.       At the top of the backswing, left arm is straight and 80% of weight on right leg; keep right knee flexed.
4.       Also, at the top of the backswing, strive for shoulder turn 90° and hip turn of 45°.

Golf Swing Tip 3: Downswing

1.       Your first movement in the downswing is weight shift of body to left, then hips, arms and shoulders unwind to impact.
2.       At impact, club is released by unhinging wrists and delivering club square through ball—keep head behind ball at impact.
3.       As body turns to target through impact, arms and club extend down target line.
4.       At finish, belt buckle faces target, club is wrapped around shoulder; 90% of body weight on left leg with right foot on toes.

What are the most common golf swing faults?

Every golfer at some time or another let’s a swing fault creep into his or her game. Half the battle of fixing a golf swing fault is identifying what the golf swing fault is in the first place.

Below is a list of the twelve most common golf swing faults that all golfers experience on or off the course at one time or another.

1.Pull Hook: The pull hook is a golf fault that starts left and curves farther left.
2.Hook: The hook shot is a golf fault that starts right of target and curves left of target.
3.Pull: The pull is a golf fault that starts left of target and continues straight left.
4.Push: The push shot is a golf fault that starts right of target and continues straight right.
5.Slice: The slice shot is a golf fault that starts left, but finishes right of target.
6.Push Slice: The push slice is a golf fault that starts right of target and continues farther right.
7.Thin/topped Shot: A thin or “topped” golf fault occurs when the leading edge of club strikes equator of ball usually sending the golf ball a few inches off the ground and only a few feet.
8.Fat/Duffed Shot: A “fat” or “duffed” golf fault occurs when the golfer hits behind the ball and hits the turf before the ball is struck sometimes popping the ball in the air with little distance.
9.Shank Shot: A “shank” occurs when the ball strikes hosel of club and ball flies viciously to right.
10.Left Arm Collapse (also known as “Chicken Wing”): occurs when the left arm collapses before club face impact with the golf ball resulting in significant power loss and errant golf shots.
11.Pop-Up Golf Shot: A “pop-up” golf shot occurs when the golf ball is popped straight up into the air with little distance usually resulting from too steep of a swing.
12.Poor Distance: Poor distance occurs when the golfer makes decent contact with the golf ball but does not achieve adequate distance with either irons or woods shots. This usually occurs because the upper and lower body are not synchronized to achieve maximum swing speed and power.

Useful Golf Swing Tips for Golf Beginners

Ever look on the internet to find a few useful golf swing tips only to find far more advice on the golf swing than you ever felt possible? The next thing you know you read a dozen or so golf swing tips and become even more confused than before.

Not to add to the confusion, but hopefully cut through the clutter, the following list contains tried and true golf swing tips that will help aid the beginner golfer and serve as gentle reminders for more advanced golfers. These golf swing tips are not intended to offer “new or breakthrough” golf swing methods, but fundamentally sound golf advice that if incorporated in your game, will certainly help lower your golf score and ingrain sold golf swing fundamentals.

General Golf Swing Tips

Relax: you can have the best golf swing in the world, but if you are too uptight and introduce tension into your swing, you are doomed. If you simply relax when you swing (think a golf grip of “5” on a scale of 1 to 10), you will hit the ball further, more solidly and more consistently.
Pre-shot routine: establish a standard pre-shot routine before every shot.
Establish good rhythm and tempo: think “Slow Back, Fast Forward” and work on getting your body and swing tempo in sync.
Make solid contact with the golf ball: if you find you are hitting the ball short, fat, thin, left and right, then on your next shot, relax, take more club, shorten your swing and simply ensure that you are making solid contact with the ball

Golf Short Game Swing Tips

Putting: Keep your eyes over the ball and head steady; ensure consistent backswing length and follow-through; keep lower body “quiet”; make sure to hit through the ball.
Chipping: Keep most of your body weight on your front leg throughout shot.
Pitching: Open stance and keep most of your body weight on your front leg throughout shot.
Bunkers: Keep left arm straight throughout shot and control shot with good body rotation, not just arms.

Practice and Play Mindset

• Separate “play” from “practice.” When practicing, focus on fundamentals, mechanics and adjustments. When playing, resist analysis and focus only on the target for your next shot.
• When playing, track golf shot statistics to monitor progress and identify development needs including number of fairways hit, greens in regulation, “Up and Down” Percentage and Putts Per round
• Analyze your statistics and overall play after your round to set basis for practice agenda.
• Practice with a purpose—define your practice agenda, needs and focus areas before you practice.
• Sixty percent or more of golf score occurs within 100 yards of hole. To lower your golf scores, devote half or more of practice time to short game (pitching, bunkers, chipping and putting).

Basics of golf for the golf beginners

There are many elements to the game of golf and specifically to the golf swing. You have the rules, the equipment, what to wear, where to play, the list goes on and on. But what are the core golf basics of the fundamental golf swing? What are the key golf basics tips to simply make successful contact with the golf ball and get it airborne? This article covers the basics of the golf swing including grip, posture, stance, backswing golf basics and downswing golf basics.

Golf Basics: The Grip

The recommended golf grip is what is known as the Vardon Overlap grip. It is used by the vast majority of golfers. Here are the golf basic tips for the Vardon Overlap grip (for right handers):

• Take little finger of right hand and place it between index and middle finger of left hand (leading hand).
• Left hand thumb should fit in lifeline of right hand.
• When looking down at grip, knuckles of the left hand forefinger and middle finger are visible.
• Check that the creases of thumbs and forefingers point between right side of face and right shoulder.

Golf Basics: Posture and Stance Checkpoints

• Body weight in middle of feet.
• Tilt from hips approximately 30 degrees to achieve proper spine angle.
• Knees slightly flexed.
• Keep back straight. Visualize an "axis line" down spine. Rotate around this axis line throughout swing.
• Arms hang freely.
• Chin up and off chest.
• Stance: shoulder-width for mid-irons; slightly wider for longer irons and woods; slightly narrower for shorter irons and wedges.

Golf Basics: Ball Position

• Driver - three balls forward from center (aligned with heel of left foot).
• 3, 5 Wood and Hybrid (also 1-4 Irons) – two balls forward from center.
• 5,6 and 7 Iron - one ball forward from center.
• 8, 9 and Wedges - ball in center of stance.

Golf Basics: The Backswing

1. Shift body weight to inside of right leg as club is taken back.
2. As hands approach waist, wrists start to hinge/cock.
3. At the top of backswing, left arm is straight and 80 percent of weight on right leg; keep right knee flexed.
4. Shoulder turn—90 and Hip turn 45

Golf Basics: The Downswing

1. First movement of downswing is weight shift of body to left, then hips, arms and shoulders unwind to impact.
2. At impact, club is released by unhinging wrists and delivering club square through ball—keep head behind ball at impact.
3. As body turns to target through impact, arms and club extend down target line.
4. At finish, belt buckle faces target, club is wrapped around shoulder; 90 percent of body weight on left leg with right foot on toes.

Golf swing fundamental to improve your golf swing

One way to ingrain an effective, consistent and repeatable golf swing is to follow a quick checklist of the golf swing fundamentals and quickly go through the checklist as you practice and prepare for your round. The key is to keep it simple.

Here is a straightforward sample checklist of golf swing fundamentals (for a right handed golfer). The more you repeat this checklist and ingrain it into your golf practice routine, the quicker you will achieve a solid golf swing!

1. Ball position - forward (driver, low irons) or back (wedges, high irons) in stance depending on club used
2. Grip – neutral position with knuckles of left hand forefinger and middle finger visible. Creases of thumb and forefinger for each hand point between right side of face and right shoulder.
3. Posture – correct stance width, proper spine tilt, flexed knees, relaxed arms and chin up and off chest
4. Alignment – body parallel to target line
5. Backswing Takeaway – club parallel to target line when hands reach hip level
6. Backswing Halfway point – butt of grip faces target line, wrists fully hinged
7. Top of Backswing – Left arm straight and club shaft parallel to target line.
8. Downswing Transition – Right elbow in “slot” (near right hip) and butt of grip points to ball
9. Impact – Left wrist flat and weight on left leg.
10. Release – Arms extended down target line and club points to target
11. Finish – Weight fully transferred to left leg and belt buckle faces target.
12. Golf Swing Ball Flight – Evaluate the results of your golf swing. Did shot go straight, hook, pull or slice?

If you are not satisfied with your ball flight, go through the checkpoints above without hitting the golf ball. Then, perform half speed swings with focus on the golf swing checkpoints to ensure your golf swing technique is sound. Finally, resume hitting golf balls at half-speed, then full speed.

It is easy to over-complicate the golf swing. Don’t. Just keep ingraining the golf swing checkpoints and mechanics above and soon your golf swing will dramatically improve and feel completely natural.

Golf swing instructions for beginners

Beginner golfers learning the game of golf should focus their efforts on the most critical elements of the golf swing, namely the golf grip, setup and full swing fundamentals. Here are golf swing basics and tips that reinforce these fundamentals. Note: these golf swing tips are for right handed golfers.

The Grip

1. For most golfers, the recommended golf grip for the golf swing is the Vardon Overlap grip where the little finger of the right hand (trailing hand) is placed in the crease of the forefinger and middle finger of the left hand (leading hand).
2. The left hand thumb should fit in the lifeline of the right hand.
3. The finished golf swing grip should lie in fingers and not the palms.
4. Grip pressure determines amount of wrist hinge and release – on a scale of 1 to 10 where 10 is “tight” and 1 is “loose,” strive for a “5 to 6.”
5. “Neutral” grip is recommended for majority of golf swing shots and results in “square” clubface at impact. Using a neutral grip, the “V” formed by thumb and index finger of each hand should point between right shoulder and chin.

Golf Swing Posture & Stance

1. Body weight in middle of feet.
2. Tilt from hips approximately 30 degrees to achieve proper spine angle.
3. Knees slightly flexed.
4. Keep back straight. Visualize an “axis line” down spine. Rotate around this axis line throughout the golf swing.
5. Arms hang freely.
6. Chin up and off chest.
7. Stance: shoulder-width for mid-irons; slightly wider for longer irons and woods; slightly narrower for shorter irons and wedges.

Tips on how to improve the golf swing

There are hundreds if not thousands of golf swing tips available via books, DVDs, websites and the like. From our experience, there are three golf swing tips that if followed regularly, can help prevent many of the typical golf swing faults.

So, here are a few of our favorite golf swing tips that can improve the fundamentals of the golf swing:

Golf Swing Tip 1: Make sure you are transferring weight properly

A major weight transfer fault is to sway the hips laterally to the right in backswing which shifts weight to left foot. This causes a “reverse pivot” weight transfer fault. A reverse pivot fault often results in shifting weight to the right foot in finish, another major weight transfer fault. Both of these weight transfer faults often result in poor golf shots.

The proper weight shift in the full swing results in 80% of weight on the inside of the right foot at the top of the backswing and full weight transfer to the left leg in the finish position. In the backswing, weight is kept on inside of right foot and right knee remains in place, setting up the correct weight shift to the left in downswing.

Golf Swing Tip 2: Keep your swing “on plane” throughout the swing

Every golf swing has an “ideal swing plane” or path that the club travels throughout the backswing and downswing. A key “on-plane” golf swing tip is that club shaft angle (also known as the “shaft plane”) is in line with the ideal swing plane throughout the swing.

Remember, an above the plane shaft can result in a steep, OUT-IN or “over the top” swing path causing pulls and slices. A below the plane shaft can result in a swing path that is too flat or excessively IN-OUT causing hooks and pushed shots.

So, to improve your golf hooks or golf slices and to help hit the golf ball straight, visualize the swing plane and stay on plane throughout the shot.

Golf Swing Tip 3: Keep body synchronized throughout the swing

In the backswing, the hands, chest and shoulders should be synchronized and move together. When the hands are at hip level, the wrists hinge. On the downswing, the left hip moves to the left slightly and initiates weight shift to the left which drops the right elbow down close to the hip (also known as dropping the right elbow in the “slot”). This weight shift left leads the upper body through impact and finish.
